Code of conduct

This code of conduct has been adapted from that used at EMBL

 

We are committed to providing an inclusive, safe, and harassment-free, learning experience for all participants. We expect all participants to adhere to the following code of conduct during the event:

  • Treat all participants with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or any other characteristic
  • Collaborate with fellow participants in a positive and respectful manner, promoting a sense of community and shared learning
  • Respect the policies and guidelines set forth by the course or conference organisers, including but not limited to the event schedule, session guidelines, health and safety policies and any additional instructions provided
  • Use respectful and inclusive language and avoid any form of offensive or discriminatory remarks or jokes
  • Refrain from harassment in any form, including but not limited to verbal, written, visual, or physical 
  • Immediately cease any unwelcome behaviour(s) that makes others feel uncomfortable
  • Participants shall conduct themselves in such a manner so as not to jeopardise the IESC’s reputation
  • Participation is governed by this code of conduct as well as applicable national legislation
